Terms of Use

1. The service

Parlary is a marketplace connecting students with Italian teachers for live, one-on-one online lessons. Parlary facilitates booking and payment, but the lesson is delivered by the teacher.

2. Account

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity on your account.

You must be 18 or older, or have a legal guardian’s consent.

You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

3. Students and teachers

Students book and pay for lessons. Teachers offer availability, deliver lessons and receive the corresponding payout.

Teachers act independently; Parlary is not the teachers’ employer.

4. Payments and payouts

Payments are processed by Stripe. Parlary retains a platform fee on each lesson and pays the remainder to the teacher via Stripe Connect.

Refunds and cancellations follow the policy shown at the time of booking.

5. Conduct

You agree not to use the platform for unlawful or abusive purposes or in ways that violate others’ rights, and to treat teachers and students with respect.

6. Intellectual property

Parlary’s brand, software and content are protected. Lesson material belongs to its respective authors.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Parlary is not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the platform.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil.
